This position is for a Children’s Home Lead who will have overall responsibility of a small Children’s Home.

£45,000 – £50,000 per annum + 5% bonus

Cornerways Homes is seeking an experienced and motivated Children’s Home Lead to join our residential childcare service. This is a key leadership role within a small EBD children’s home, focused on delivering high-quality, trauma-informed care and achieving strong outcomes for young people.

We operate small homes with a strong emphasis on safeguarding, consistency and professional development. As Children’s Home Lead, you will support the Registered Manager in leading the team, maintaining compliance, and driving continuous improvement.

Package

  • Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per annum + 5% bonus
  • 40 hours per week

Responsibilities

As Children’s Home Lead, you will:

  • Support the leadership and day-to-day management of a residential children’s home
  • Promote safeguarding and therapeutic practice
  • Supervise and support staff development
  • Maintain compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations & Quality Standards 2015
  • Monitor quality and implement improvement plans
  • Support rota management and operational systems
  • Work collaboratively with Local Authorities, families and external professionals
  • Contribute to a positive, reflective and child-centred culture

You will help create a structured and nurturing environment where both young people and staff can thrive.

Essential Criteria

Qualifications

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (England)
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development

Experience

  • Significant experience within residential children’s care
  • Experience at senior or supervisory level
  • Strong safeguarding and risk management experience
  • Experience supervising or mentoring staff
  • Experience contributing to care planning and placement stability
  • Multi-agency working experience

Knowledge & Understanding

  • Trauma-informed and attachment-based approaches
  • Safeguarding legislation and child protection
  • Children’s Homes Regulations & Quality Standards
  • Equality, diversity and children’s rights

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
