Responsible individual
This position is for a responsible Individual who will have overall responsibility for up to three small Children’s Homes.



Overview
Are you passionate about ensuring the well-being and development of children in residential care? Cornerways Homes is seeking a dedicated and experienced Responsible Individual to oversee the management of up to three Children’s Homes.
We offer both part-time and full-time positions, providing flexibility to suit your availability and career goals. For one Residential Home, the part-time role offers a competitive salary range of £30,000 to £35,000 per annum (depending on experience) for 25 hours per week. If you’re looking to take on the responsibility of managing two or three Residential Homes, our full-time position offers a salary range of £50,000 to £60,000 per annum (depending on experience).
Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach and manage three Home
- Managers and help them achieve ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ status which can be measured month by month.
- Identify staff shortfalls and implement recruitment plans for each Home.
- Assist with recruitment planning and processing for Residential Services where required.
- To lead the service in a way that is aspirational, inspiring for children and the staff teams.
- Produce monitoring reports, statistical data and evaluation as required and in keeping with organisational policies and procedures and within agreed deadlines.
- To ensure that the needs of the children are paramount in any work undertaken within the organisation.
- To maintain professional relationships with the team, multi-agency partnerships, Regulation 44 Visitors, Ofsted Inspectors, parents, families and other stakeholders.
Experience
- 2 years experience working in management capacity
- Experience of working within residential services for children/young people
- Supervision or management experience.
- Level 5 In Leadership and Management
Knowledge & Understanding
- Children’s Home Regulations and Quality Standards 2015, Single Social Care Inspection Framework (SSCIF), Children Act 1989, Children and Families Act 2014, Care Standards Act 2000, Children Act 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, Data Protection, Health and Safety at work and associated guidance and regulation.
- Policies and procedures pertaining to running a residential children’s home.
- Child protection, safeguarding children, impact of abuse and neglect, education and health needs of looked after children, equality and diversity and children’s rights.
- Care and placement planning, risk and review processes.
- Understanding of the education, health, social, emotional and psychological needs of looked after children and young people and how to ensure these needs are met.
Ability to keep up to date on research and findings within Residential Care and Looked After Children.
