Senior Care Worker / Team Leader

We are looking for accountable, reliable Senior / Team Leaders we can offer progression within our team. This is a very rewarding position were you can make a real influence in the Children’s Homes you will be working in.

Our rota operates on a shift basis of 2 days on followed by 4 days off

Qualifications
NVQ Level 4 Children, Young People & Families Practitioner or equivalent
Salary
£33,306 p/a – £35,568 p/a

Inc Sleeping shifts @ £60 per night

Responsibilities

  • To assist the Manager in providing a high quality service for children and young people requiring care.

  • To lead by example and maintain good professional practices.

  • To take responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of our children and young people, whilst on duty.

  • To ensure all children have a plan, a risk assessment, behaviour management plan and any other child’s plan and that work is completed with them as instructed by their plans.
  • To lead shift plans and weekly plans, guiding and supporting staff on duty to implement the plan and when incidents occur.

  • Christmas Day/New Year’s Day: 2x rate for all shifts on 25th December and 1st January; 1.5x rate for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve
  • Overtime: Paid at 1.25x rate
  • Overtime (11 pm-7 am): Paid at 1.5x rate (Waking Night staff included)
  • Loyalty Bonus:

– Year 1 (12 months): £250 + 1 extra annual leave day (8 hours)
– Year 2 (12 months): £350 + 1 extra annual leave day (8 hours)
– Year 3 (12 months): £450 + 1 extra annual leave day (8 hours)
– Year 4 (12 months): £550 + 1 extra annual leave day (8 hours)
– Year 5: £600

Qualifications/Experience

At least two years’ experience in working with children/young people

  • Minimum one-year at a senior level within a children’s home setting
  • Experience of managing staff team
  • Experience of working with children with challenging behaviours
  • Have completed NVQ Level 4 in Residential Childcare or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • Have the ability to develop good working relations with the team, professionals and the young people
